What do we collect?
 

Compu Wholesale Pty Ltd gathers personal information from customers, which is limited to Name, Address, Phone/Fax/Mobile Number and Email Address.
 

How do we collect this information?
 

Client information is usually collected when an account application is filled out. On occasions where individuals are applying for a credit account with our company, they will be required to complete a credit application form.

On occasions, our company may contact companies or organisations from public sources such as phone books, with the aim of making contact with an individual relevant to our industry. If this individual would like to do business with our company or be kept informed of future specials, promotions, or price lists, we may store their contact information as per below.
 

Where and how do we store this information?
 

Client information is stored electronically in one of two software applications. All sales transactions are recorded in our “JIWA” computerised accounts processing software, which is stored on our centralised File Server. A process sales transaction produces two hard printed copies of the invoice. A copy of this invoice is provided to the customer and the second copy is filed away by us in sequential number order.
 

How do we use this information, and whom do we disclose it to?
 

Compu Wholesale Pty Ltd uses this information solely to record the transaction of a sale. If a customers’ personal contact details are stored on our computer system as a business trading credit account, then we may periodically utilise these contact details to promote our other products and services to these customers. At any time, a customer may request that they do not receive any promotional material from our company. Additionally customer information may be required to be provided by us to the manufacturer of the equipment that was purchased, or required for the facilitation of warranty repair. It is our understanding that manufactures utilise this information to trace ownership of the product for warranty purposes and in some instances, the manufacturer may contact the customer to gauge product satisfaction or to verify warranty repair confirmation and repair satisfaction. At no point does Compu Wholesale disclose this personal information to any other company, association or individual other than that mentioned above. Additionally, all staff of Compu Wholesale Pty Ltd have signed confidentiality clauses that prevent them disclosing company information to any outside party.
 

Do we inform Customers of intended use of that information?

The information gathered by Compu Wholesale Pty Ltd is standard for wholesale product purchases and for tracking of warranty status. We do not inform the customer on each individual transaction as to why we are collecting their personal details and whom it may be disclosed too, however if requested we are happy to explain and provide a copy of this policy explanation.
 

Is this information up to date and relevant?
 

Because any information gathered is obtained at point of transaction, it is always up to date at that point. This information is only used to record a transaction and does not require updating after this point. If the personal information is gathered and stored as part of a business trading account, then the database contact details are checked at least twice a year and updated as required to ensure that the contact person is still employed by the company and that they are still the relevant contact point.
